Photo Division

Photo Division is the biggest production unit of its kind in the country in the field of photography. The Division provides photographs to the media units of the Ministry of Information and broadcasting and other central and state Government. The Division also supplies on payment photographs and tranparencies to the general public. The Division has its headquarters in New Delhi, with well-equipped laboratories and equipment for handling different kinds of photographs stored in the photo-library for easy retrieval of data. Photo Division has switched over to digital mode of photo transmission. The Division has well equipped laboratories and equipment for handling different kinds of photographhic jobs and assignments both in black-and-white and in colour at its Headquaters in Delhi. News Photo Network has also been installed at its Head Office in New Delhi. The network for linking with all regional offices is in progress. The process of digitally storing photographs on current events in the News Photo Network is currently on. It also feeds photographs to the Press Information Bureau , which makes available these photographs in their Home Page on the Internet . The Division has four regional offices at Mumbai, Chennai, Calcutta and Guwahati.
